June Message from the East

Brethren, this month we honor our recipients of Gold with an Official Visitation from the District Deputy Grand Master. We will be honoring members who have served this great fraternity for a period of 50, 60, and 70 years! This is quite an accomplishment, and I look forward to being able to preside over such an occasion. I know each one of these men appreciates your sincerest thanks and gratitude for their service.

It is also my pleasure to award our Darryl S. Flinn Scholarships to three worthy students who will be entering and/or returning to college. Please be sure to make these individuals feel welcome as they join us for dinner and fellowship.

On a final note, as we call off from labor for July and August, I ask that you enjoy this opportunity and make the very most of your time away.  I look forward to seeing everyone at the Relay for Life and ask that you would consider making a donation to such an honorable cause.

Please Note: We will be having our Annual Summer Social, however, we are looking for a Brother with a nice backyard that would be willing to host the event.  Otherwise, we will be renting facilities and informing the membership.  We plan on having the Summer Social sometime in August.  If interested, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

I look forward to seeing you at our next upcoming stated and extra meetings!

Your Humble Servant, L. Kenneth Bray III, WM.

Community Needs Grant

Prior to the 4/11/18 Stated Meeting L. Kenneth Bray III, Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 43 and Brother Vince Spadea presented a check to Maryanne O’Neill. Mrs O’Neill is the program coordinator of Safe Families for Children, a part of Bethany Christian Services. The check was for $1000 called a Community Needs Grant from our Lodge charity fund.

February 2018 Message from The East

Brethren, I would like to thank all of our members that attended our January Stated Meeting, and for showing support for your 2018 Officers.  We have had a very busy January conferring many degrees, and have an equally busy February ahead. I would like to thank, not only the Officers for their work but express my sincere thanks and gratitude to our Past Masters and our assisting Brethren for their contributions on our Extra Meeting nights.

Just a reminder, a meal is provided at no cost during our Extra Meetings. Also, these Extra Meetings and Degree nights would not be successful without the assistance of our members serving as guides and mentors. If you have an interest in serving in one or both of these roles contact an Officer.

Just a reminder, our February Meeting will be opened in the Entered Apprentice Masons Degree where we will welcome and recognize the newly Entered, Passed, and Raised Masons.  Please come out and show these gentlemen your support and welcome them into our great fraternity.  In keeping with our focus on Masonic Education, the program will be about the Oath and Obligation of the Entered Apprentice Mason.  I do hope you attend this meeting, join in the fellowship, and welcome our newest members of Lodge No. 43.

Lastly in an effort to better understand our your taste, I’d like to know your thoughts on our meal choices for our March Stated Meeting.  Please follow the link in your digital lodge notice to an online survey, you will be prompted to select one of three choices. I look forward to your reply.
Humbly, Worshipful Master L. Kenneth Bray III

Dec Message from the East

Brethren, I want to personally thank each and every one of our members for a wonderful year. This year has moved so quick I can hardly believe it’s over. I thoroughly and humbly enjoyed my time in the East and serving Lodge No. 43. Without our members and Officers, this year could not have been such a success. To list all that was accomplished this year would be an undertaking, but the highlights I’ve enjoyed most are: Hosting a well received Widow program, resolving our George Washington Statue and moving him to Masonic Villages, a wonderful Veteran’s Program, our Relay for Life participation, Lodge 43’s strong presence of award winners including the Grand Master’s award at Lodge in the Woods, and our anticipated presentation of the 2017 Travelling Gavel. Please come out to this Month’s installation of officers, and in January, to the receptions of the anticipated Junior Grand Warden, Larry A. Derr, and the First Masonic District’s District Deputy Grand Master, Ronald B. Carson. Lastly, I’d like to wish Senior Warden, Brother L. Kenneth Bray III, and his officers, the best of luck in 2018. I thank you all again for a wonderful year, and I wish you a wonderful Holiday season and Happy New Year. – Bro. Thomas J. Quinn, Worshipful Master.
