The Lancaster Masonic Center Is Changing; But Lodge No. 43 Is Not

The pending sale of the Lancaster Masonic Center marks the end of an important chapter in our Lodge’s history, but it is important to remember one simple truth:

Lodge No. 43 is not defined by the building in which it meets.

For generations, Freemasonry has endured because it is built upon its members, its principles, and the bonds of brotherhood—not brick and mortar. While many of us have deep personal memories tied to the Lancaster Masonic Center, those memories travel with us. Our work, our traditions, and our fellowship will continue.

Our Temporary Home

Following the sale of the Lancaster Masonic Center, Lancaster Lodge No. 43 will temporarily relocate to:
Manheim Lodge No. 587
30 S. Linden Street
Manheim, PA 17545

This move is made possible through the generosity and fraternal spirit of the officers and members of Manheim Lodge No. 587, who have graciously opened their doors to us during this transition. We extend our sincere appreciation for their hospitality and support.

This relocation is intended to be temporary while Lodge leadership develops a thoughtful, strategic plan for establishing a permanent home back within the Lancaster City area. We are committed to making decisions that will best position Lodge No. 43 for generations to come.

Preserving Our History

One of the most significant tasks currently underway is the careful inventory and preservation of the Lodge’s historical artifacts and property.

Many of these items carry tremendous sentimental value and represent the rich history of Lancaster Lodge No. 43. Our goal is to ensure these pieces are properly documented, cared for, and securely stored until they can once again be displayed in a future Lodge home.

We recognize that many members have personal connections to certain items, and we appreciate the affection our Brothers have for the Lodge’s history.

Regarding Lodge Property

At this time, we respectfully ask that members please refrain from contacting Lodge officers or the Board of Directors to inquire about purchasing Lodge property or other Masonic Center items.

The Lodge is currently conducting a chair and bench sale exclusively for members of Lancaster Lodge No. 43. Information regarding this opportunity has been shared directly with the membership.

Beyond that limited sale, no additional Lodge property is available for purchase at this time.

The Lancaster Masonic Center Board of Directors is continuing to develop a fair and orderly process regarding the disposition of Masonic Center-owned property. Once those plans have been finalized, complete details will be communicated to the membership and the public as appropriate.

Until then, we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as this work continues.

Looking Ahead

Transitions are rarely easy, especially when they involve a place that has meant so much to so many for so long.

Yet Freemasonry has always adapted, persevered, and continued its mission through changing times. This moment is no different.

Our meetings will continue. Our charitable work will continue. New Brothers will still be raised, and friendships will continue to grow.

Our address may change for a time, but the heart of Lodge No. 43 remains exactly where it has always been — with its members.

We thank every Brother for your continued support, patience, and commitment as we begin this next chapter together.
