Message from the East – April

“To be great, truly great, you have to be the kind of person who makes the others around you great” – Mark Twain

Brethren, I would like to thank those of you that came out to the Academy of Masonic Knowledge this month and made it such a great success. As you know, Masonic Education is the cornerstone of this fraternity and my focus on the year ahead. When attending our meetings, take note of the educational flyers that are placed at the Tyler’s station. Our Junior Master of Ceremonies has prepared these flyers to hopefully spark your curiosity in learning more about the lodge and the fraternity at large.

April is another month that is full of Masonic happenings, please make sure you visit our Lodge’s website, as well as the First Masonic District’s website to receive the most up to date information. We are a very fortunate lodge to have so many new petitions and candidates, please support these new members as they go through their Masonic journey. I encourage you to get involved and help support your lodge; you get out of it, what you put into it.

I will be hosting an online discussion about “The Builders” by Joseph Fort Newton, as well as hosting a brief crash course about the Academy of Masonic Knowledge. Stay tuned for an event email that will be circulated about a week before the event for you to sign-up and join in the discussion, or just follow along.

I look forward to seeing you at our next upcoming stated and extra meetings!

Your humble servant,
L. Kenneth Bray III, Worshipful Master

A Message from our Lodge Librarian:

An inventory of our Masonic library books has recently been completed. There are over 150 books that are overdue, some dating back to as early as 2002, and all years up to the present.

Please check your bookshelves, night stands, etc. for any books that you have completed, and may have overlooked returning. Return them to the Lodge Library at your earliest convenience so others may have an opportunity to enjoy them. Please log them back into the current “sign-out sheet” in the library so I may account for them.

Thank You and continue to enjoy what the Lodge Library has to offer. I look forward to continuing to maintain and grow what is one of the finest Masonic libraries of its kind.

Nat Gilchrist P.M.
