The Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 43 has declared the official day of visitation at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown successful. Over two dozen residents that are associated with Lodge No. 43 were visited.

Brother Kenneth Caldwell, greeted by Brother Thomas Hopta, Worshipful Master, enjoyed a visit together. This was just one of many that day.

Date: June 24th 2012 Time: 12:00 NOON—5:00 PM Place: Rajah Shrine Complex, Blandon, PA Join us for an afternoon picnic filled with lots of FUN and information.

Who is Invited? All Blue Lodge members, their Ladies, children and grandchildren, or any other prospective Masons or Shriners.

Purpose:

1. To meet and talk with children and their parents who have been treated or are now being treated at The Shriners Hospital for Children.

2. To introduce Blue Lodge Members and their families to Rajah Shrine, it’s members, Units and Clubs for Rajah and the ideas that we encompass.

The Day:

1. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and all the trimmings, Macaroni Salad, Etc., Including non-alcoholic drinks. Food will be served from 1pm to 4pm.

2. Games for the Children that attend.

3. Entertainment by several Rajah Shrine Units and Clubs, which may include The Antique Car Club, Chanters (singing group), Oriental Band, String Band, Concert Band, Clowns, Tin Lizzies (small cars), Mounted Patrol (horse unit), Caravans (camping club), Anglers (fishing club), Legion of Honor (veterans) and many more. There are 32 different Units and Clubs in Rajah Shrine. We believe that we have an interest for just about anyone to take part in.

4. The Units and Clubs will have informational tables set up to answer questions and give information on the activities of their unit or club.

5. Information about becoming a Master Mason (Blue Lodge) Member.

Reservations: Reservations are required. When you register, you will be sent tickets for yourself and all family members. This will give us an ideal of how much food and drinks we need to order. Cost: We are pleased to announce that all of the festivities are FREE to anyone who chooses to attend however this year we are asking for you to bring an non-perishable food item to be donated.

Lodge 43 Participating in New Member Necktie Program

The Worshipful Master of Lodge No. 43 has opted to participate in the the Grand Master’s 2012-2013 necktie for a brother who has first-line-signed a petition for initiation and membership. After the brother has been initiated, the Lodge Secretary will fill out the appropriate request form. Ties will be presented to the first line signer at a reqular lodge meeting.

Lodge 43 also checks on Widows at Masonic Village

On Saturday, April 21, the official day of Lodge No. 43′s visitation at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, the residents that are widows of members were also visited.

Brothers Patrick White, Gordon Fisher, Vincent Spadea, and Thomas Hopta, Worshipful Master visited with Rhoda S. Miller, the widow of Brother Sherman Miller. She was just one of several widows that were visited by members of Lodge No. 43.

Brother Almore G. Robb Sr., a resident at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, received his lodge pin during from Brother Tom Hopta, Worshipful Master, Brother Michael Riggi, and Brother William Steele during Lodge No. 43′s official visiting to the Masonic Village.

Brother Robb said he didn’t expect the visit, but was most appreciative to meet his brothers.

Today is James Buchanan’s 221st birthday.

It’s only fitting that Lodge No. 43 recognize this date – afterall, we are the ONLY lodge in Pennsylvania that ever had one of its members become President of the United States. Brother James Buchanan (did you know his real name is James Buchanan, Jr.?) served at the 15th president of the US.

buchanan was born in a log cabin in Cove Gap (now Buchanan’s Birthplace State Park), Franklin County, Pennsylvania, on April 23, 1791, he moved to Lancaster and became a member of Lodge No. 43, and served as Worshipful Master.

Brother John Smuck Visted by Lodge 43 Worshipful Master

During the official day of visitation at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, in addition to members of Lodge 43, the Worshipful Master, Brother Tom Hopta, visited Brother John Smuck. Brother Smuck, a resident at the Mssonic Village, offered a bright smile and appearewd delighted to be visited.

Today, Lodge No. 43, F. & A.M. visited the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Fifteen members met at the Three Loaves cafeteria, enjoyed a light lunch and the fellowship, and then broke up into teams to visit the residents and widows of those associated with Lodge 43.
